Reading Project
After/ while you are reading you are to think of a creative depiction, representation, interpretation or presentation of your novel. Examples include:
· Appropriate projects would be a reenactment of an important scene from the novel.
· Creating a children’s version of the novel that includes your own original images.
· Create a miniature representation of the setting of the novel.
· Create a movie trailer for the novel that summarizes the important scenes from the text, and introduces all of the main characters.
· Create a mosaic that represents the heart of the story. The heart of the story can be a word, line, passage, image or event.
· Pick one of the main characters of your book and then bring them into the 21st century. Change their clothes, appearance, and anything else you need to, but you cannot change their personality. This character will have also just found themselves in the modern world, but they will have all of the memories from the novel. Have them come into the class and explain how they are surviving in this world and what they miss from the novel, and what they would have changed.
· Create a game board about your book that is able to be played. You will need all game pieces, as well as rules completed.
· Using the same style as the book, create a new chapter. This chapter should be believable and fits into the story well. In this chapter the same character personalities should appear.
· Change the ending of you book. Explain why you changed it and why you think your ending is better than the first. It should use the same style as the book, create a new chapter. This chapter should be believable and fits into the story well. In this chapter the same character personalities should appear.
· If your characters in the story are on a trip, adventure or quest. Make a list of items that the characters should take it they go on this trip again. What places should they avoid, or where should they change their route? What are some of the rules that they should know about the areas that they are traveling to? Who would be the leader, speaker, and guide of the group? What would some of the rules be for those who are traveling? Who would enforce the rules? Where would they stay? What food would they need to pack? How long would the trip last? Also you will need to map out the route that they will need to take.
· Etc.
