Welcome to English II otherwise known as World Literature. I am asked one question when I teach this class more than any other; that question is 'why do we need to learn about other places in the world?' Now before you start asking that same question I have a few for you.
Now if you answered these question honestly you will that your life is already connected to other parts of the globe. I am pretty sure the grand majority of you will have noticed by now it is hard to find things that are only made in the U.S.A.
Below I have attached a map this map will be changing periodically and it is up to you to keep up with its movements.
I will change the location on the map every time we explore a new country. It is your job to create a collage about that location and have it ready to turn in that Friday.
- Where are the clothes you are wearing made?
- How much your the food that you get at the grocery store is locally produced?
- How many businesses have partners or branches over seas?
- Does our military only stay in America?
- Have any of you ever thought about traveling over seas?
